Tell us the story about how Songstats came to life. What were you doing before Songstats, and how did it lead you down this path? What gap in the music-data landscape were you trying to fill?

Songstats was born out of our work on 1001Tracklists — a platform that tracks DJ sets across festivals, radio shows, and mixtapes. In 2015, I connected with my co-founders Evan Sacks and Jacob Merlin, and we quickly realized the immense value this data held for producers and labels. That’s when the idea for “1001Tracklists for Artists” emerged — a tool to alert artists when top DJs supported their tracks.

As we developed the MVP, it became clear that we needed more than just DJ data.
