Set It and Forget It: Syndicast Introduces Automatic Metadata & Technical Compliance

We know the drill. You download a killer track or a top-tier radio show, and then the fiddly work begins: renaming files, tagging genres, hunting down ISRC codes, and manually embedding album art so your playout system doesn’t look like a blank screen.

At Syndicast, we believe your time is better spent discovering great content and engaging your audience. That’s why, following our recent station survey, we listened carefully to your feedback and have rolled out a major system update.

You asked for a more seamless ingestion process, and we’ve delivered. All music, radio shows, and podcasts on Syndicast are now delivered with fully completed, broadcast-ready metadata, embedded artwork, and standardized technical parameters.

For community stations and major networks alike, these files are now plug-and-play for your automation, logging, and royalty payout systems. No manual work is required – everything is handled automatically.

For every music file downloaded from Syndicast, your system will now automatically receive its digital passport. When you pull a file into your library, the following fields are already populated:

  • Title: The official, broadcast-ready song title.
  • Artist: The main artist(s) credited on the recording.
  • Album: The specific album name associated with the track.
  • ISRC: A unique identifier for accurate identification, airplay tracking, and royalty reporting.
  • Label: The record label responsible for the release.
  • Genre: The musical genre for easy library categorization.
  • Release Date: The official date the track was made available.
  • Year: The specific release year for chronological archiving.
  • Song Cover: Artwork embedded directly into the audio file for correct visual display in broadcast and automation systems.

This saves a lot of time and effort, creating a much more seamless experience for users of our content radio library.

Consistency is key for series-based content. Our system now automatically tags radio shows and podcasts to ensure they stay organized in your scheduler:

  • Artist: Automatically assigned to the host or presenter of the show.
  • Title Logic: Clear formatting featuring the Show Name followed by the Episode Number. If applicable, the Guest Name is also included.
  • Year: The specific release year of the episode.
  • Episode Cover: Dedicated episode-specific artwork embedded directly into the audio file, ensuring professional visual display across broadcast, podcast, and automation platforms.

Beyond metadata improvements, we’ve standardized the under-the-hood tech specs.

Every file delivered through Syndicast now meets strict, broadcast-friendly technical standards to ensure 100% compatibility with your systems:

  • Format: The audio file format, such as WAV or MP3.
  • Duration: The total length of the audio file.
  • Sample Rate: The audio sampling frequency (e.g., 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz).
  • Channels: The audio channel configuration, for example, stereo.
  • Bitrate: The bitrate of the audio file (e.g., 320 kbps).

This update guarantees clean ingestion, accurate logging, and – most importantly – smooth royalty payouts. You don’t have to change a single setting or edit a single tag; the Syndicast system is now doing the heavy lifting for you.

Stay tuned – we have even more improvements coming your way soon…
