We know that for many of you, SoundCloud is a vital pillar of your online presence and listener engagement. That’s why we are thrilled to announce that the SoundCloud episode uploading tool is officially back online.
Not only is the service restored, but we’ve also taken this time to improve the way you monitor your content delivery.
Why was the service paused?
As many of our long-term users remember, we had to temporarily suspend the SoundCloud uploader last year. This was due to significant, ongoing system-wide changes on SoundCloud’s side regarding how third-party apps interact with their platform.
Rather than provide a “patchy” service that might fail unexpectedly, we chose to pause and work on a robust, long-term solution. Thanks to direct support from the SoundCloud team, we have completed a brand-new implementation that is more stable and better integrated with current API standards.
What’s New: Real-Time Status Tracking
We didn’t just want to “fix” the uploader; we wanted to make it better. One of the most requested features was better visibility into the upload process.
You can now see the live status of every episode upload directly within the Syndicast system. This applies to both SoundCloud and Mixcloud. No more guessing if a show is still processing or if there was a connection hiccup – the system will now tell you exactly what is happening:
- Scheduled: See exactly when your upload is queued to go live.
- Successful: Get instant confirmation and a direct link to your upload.
- Error Reporting: If an upload fails (for example, due to an expired token), you’ll see a specific error message and a one-click option to request a re-upload.
Important: Do you need to take action?
Because we have implemented a new system, many existing “access tokens” (the digital keys that allow Syndicast to talk to SoundCloud) have expired.
- If your tool has continued to work: You don’t need to do a thing!
- If your uploads stopped: You simply need to reconnect your SoundCloud account within your Syndicast settings. This will generate a fresh token and resume your automated workflow.
